About Moor Computing
I’m Simon Greenwood and I run Moor Computing.
I have worked with Linux and open source software for much of the last 30 years. I built my first Linux PC in 1995, and have worked with Internet technologies for as long. I have also worked in many business sectors, ranging from banking to telecoms, entertainment and law both in support and in consultancy.
There are two strands to the business:
Moortech provides Linux and open source support and consultancy:
- Support for your Linux servers and open source software – your website probably runs on it and you may use other tools that run on it such as DNS and email.
- Resolve server security issues such as those raised by cyber insurance and PCI-DSS scans, application vulnerability tests.
- Manage relationships with your service providers.
- Provide advice and assistance for upgrades and expansion as your business grows.

Thisisyourtech helps bring your technology back under your control by offering new and refurbished hardware, shared and private cloud services and advice on self hosting:
- Windows is getting more difficult to use and means you don’t own your computer any more – take back control by switching to a Linux based OS.
- Your phone may need to run Android, but there are Google-free and privacy oriented versions that will work with your favourite apps.
- You don’t need to use US-based cloud services. There are UK and European alternatives that observe data protection rules and can be completely under your control including mail and cloud services.
